Job summary

RRD is seeking a Vice President of AI & Software Engineering to lead our AI-native transformation and drive measurable business value through intelligent automation. This role shapes engineering practices, platforms, and governance across the software lifecycle.

You will mentor distributed teams, balance innovation with financial stewardship, and partner with the SVP of Digital Strategy to set the technology roadmap and investment priorities. Exceptional leadership is required.

Qualifications

• 10-14 years of technical experience with 4-6 years of direct management of staff.
• Experience leading enterprise application modernization toward modular, API-first architectures.
• Deep understanding of the AI software engineering landscape, with experience applying AI-assisted and agentic approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and evolve engineering standards, architecture principles, and governance.
• Strong leadership abilities with distributed teams and business acumen.
• Excellent communication across all levels and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Define AI adoption across the software development lifecycle and establish new engineering practices.
• Maintain awareness of evolving AI engineering landscape and adapt practices.
• Architect applications to be agent-ready and ensure guardrails and standards.
• Guide modernization of legacy platforms and optimize codebases and data access layers.
• Provide technical leadership on emerging AI technologies and vendor options.
• Collaborate with SVP to define technology vision and investment priorities.
