Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design, build, and ship generative AI-based features across customer-facing experiences and backend services. You will work on distributed systems on AWS with a focus on reliability and security.

Strong fundamentals, hands-on coding, and a willingness to learn quickly are essential. Experience with AI tools and collaboration with product teams is valued.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience building services using AWS products.
• Experience with Machine Learning and Large Language Model fundamentals, including architecture, training/inference lifecycles, and optimization of model execution.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy features for Amazon Quick, from customer-facing experiences to the backend services and infrastructure behind them.
• Build highly available, scalable, and secure distributed systems on AWS.
• Work with product managers, designers, applied scientists, and other engineers to turn customer needs into working software.
• Own the quality and operational health of what you build, including testing, monitoring, and on-call.
• Use generative AI tools in your daily work, and help improve the quality and reliability of AI-powered features.
• Participate in code and design reviews, and mentor other engineers.
