Job summary

Rocket, a Detroit-based company, is seeking a Software Engineer who thrives in an AI-native engineering environment. You will ship real products, use AI code generation tools daily, and receive mentorship, code reviews, and clear guidance as you take on increasing ownership.

You will develop and test complex software solutions, release and validate software, and contribute to incident resolution, design reviews, and documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Experience solving problems by developing software using established patterns and practices.
• Experience with C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Angular or AWS.
• Experience using AI code generation tools such as GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.
• Experience conducting integration tests and supporting software releases.
• Familiarity with Agile practices and artifacts like user stories, backlog refinement, and sprint planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test complex software solutions independently
• Release and validate software
• Contribute to software support, incident resolution and blameless reviews
• Develop code modules and patterns useful within the team
• Use AI code generation tools such as GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude Code, Cursor, or similar as part of your daily workflow
• Participate in code and design reviews
• Provide software documentation and demonstration for technical and non-technical audiences
• Assist junior peers with understanding and completing their assignments
