Job summary

Rocket, a Detroit-based company, is seeking a Software Engineer to ship real products in an AI-native engineering environment. You will use AI as a core part of how you design, code, test, and debug software, with mentorship, code reviews, and clear guidance as you take on increasing ownership.

This role involves developing and testing complex software, releasing and validating code, and contributing to supporting activities while applying established patterns and agile practices.

Qualifications

• Expertise solving problems by developing software using established patterns and practices.
• Experience with programming languages and platforms such as C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Angular or AWS.
• Experience using AI code generation tools such as GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.
• Exposure to developing reusable software modules or patterns.
• Experience conducting integration tests, assisting with software releases, and supporting operations.
• Familiarity with Agile software development practices and artifacts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test complex software solutions independently
• Release and validate software
• Contribute to software support, incident resolution and blameless reviews
• Develop code modules and patterns useful within the team
• Use AI code generation tools as part of daily workflow
• Participate in code and design reviews
• Provide software documentation and demonstrations for technical and non-technical audiences
• Assist junior peers with understanding and completing assignments
