Job summary

RunSybil, a security startup in New York, is seeking a Security Research Engineer to join a hybrid team. You will build offensive security capabilities and production-grade features that developers love, delivering robust Python backend services and modern JS interfaces.

You’ll work on AI-driven security tools, collaborate on design decisions, and drive projects to completion with autonomy in a fast-moving environment. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development experience.
• Offensive security experience or security-facing product development.
• Production Python backend experience.
• Strong knowledge of modern JS/React design patterns.
• Experience writing testable and performant code.

Responsibilities

• Develop offensive agentic capabilities.
• Lead end-to-end development of customer-facing features and systems.
• Propose and implement technical initiatives based on product roadmap.
• Lead technical design discussions and provide engineering feedback.
• Translate ambiguous challenges into actionable plans and execute with the team.
• Maintain high standards for code quality and craftsmanship.
