Job summary

idler is seeking an elite security researcher who can also build. Lead cybersecurity work, decide environments to build, and manage part-time experts while collaborating with frontier AI researchers to tailor environments for their needs.

You will write production code (Python/TypeScript) and ensure production pipelines reflect sound security judgment, with the option to stay aligned with existing projects if cybersecurity investments shift. In-person in San Francisco.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional cybersecurity experience with top-tier reputation.
• Hands-on experience in web app pentesting, bug bounty, vulnerability/zero-day research, or AI security.
• Well-connected in the security community to aid recruiting and evaluation of experts.

Responsibilities

• Drive the roadmap for idler’s cybersecurity evals and environments and decide priorities with engineering resources.
• Build and run production-grade systems that generate these environments and write code where it matters.
• Recruit, onboard, and manage part-time cybersecurity experts who review environments for fairness and quality.
• Collaborate with frontier AI researchers to understand needs and deliver environments that meet them.
