Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a passionate Security Engineer for the Security Escalations team. You will drive innovative security improvements, lead threat detection and incident response initiatives, and partner with multiple teams to deliver secure cloud solutions.

You will apply AI and agentic technologies to security workflows, mentor junior engineers, and report progress to senior leadership, while maintaining a strong customer-focused security posture across AWS services.

Qualifications

• 3+ years identifying security issues and developing mitigation plans.
• 3+ years scripting, programming and security code review.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• Experience with security in cloud, AI security, threat intelligence or incident response.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Security Bar Raiser and lead security incident assessment and remediation discussions.
• Collaborate across teams to drive long-term security enhancement projects.
• Develop executive-level reporting on project status and outcomes.
• Chair weekly security meetings with senior leadership and drive action items to completion.
• Identify security requirements by collecting inputs from business, security, and technical teams.
• Leverage AI and agentic tech to enhance security workflows like automated threat detection and intelligent escalation.
• Address bottlenecks, balance business needs with technical constraints.
• Partner with multiple teams across locations to deliver secure solutions.
• Clarify and drive security objectives and maintain accountability.
• Drive security metrics delivery and improvements.
