Job summary

Green Key Resources seeks a backend and systems engineer to design and develop high‑performance software using Rust, with emphasis on APIs, reliability, and architecture.

You will own substantial areas of the technology stack and drive from design through deployment, incorporating AI-assisted development while upholding high standards for testing and security. 6+ years of backend experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 6+ years in backend or systems software in production.
• Strong Rust proficiency or extensive C/C++/Go systems programming, with ability to work in Rust.
• Working knowledge of C++ and Python.
• Solid understanding of APIs, distributed/concurrent systems, Linux, performance optimization.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools in engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and support backend services, APIs, and systems software with Rust as a primary language.
• Own architectural decisions and implement through testing, performance, reliability, and production support.
• Make architecture choices focused on scalability, maintainability, security, and ops needs.
• Establish and maintain high engineering standards for code quality, testing, and lifecycle management.
• Develop systems software where reliability, security, and efficiency are essential.
• Incorporate AI-powered tooling while maintaining ownership of code quality and outcomes.
• Help define team standards for responsible AI-assisted development practices.
