Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. is seeking an RTL Methodology Engineer in Austin to advance the core RTL flows for AMD's next‑generation CPU core.

You will build infrastructure, tooling, and AI-powered capabilities that multiply the efficiency of the entire Core RTL team and bring modern AI-assisted workflows into hardware design. As part of the Core RTL group, you will collaborate with Performance Modeling, Design Verification, Physical Design, and Post‑Silicon teams to realize AMD's ambitious CPU

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
• Experience with CPU/SoC/ASIC RTL design environments.
• Strong tooling, debugging, and automation skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute and refine RTL design methodology and tooling.
• Develop AI-powered tools and agentic workflows for RTL design, review, and analysis.
• Own and advance the RTL static analysis ecosystem including linting, parsers, and code-analysis tooling.
• Collaborate with hardware and infrastructure engineers to build RTL development infrastructure.
• Maintain critical tools ensuring high-quality RTL development.
