Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a driven Quality Engineer to join our Quality Engineering & Assurance team. You will help build and maintain AI-driven testing standards for mission-critical intelligent applications that redefine customer interactions.

The role involves designing test automation, API and database testing, and collaborating with product managers and developers. Start in August 2026 and work in Cognizant offices across Dallas/Plano TX, Charlotte/Cary NC, Teaneck NJ, or Miami FL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 0–1 years of QA/QE experience.
• Hands-on experience with test automation scripts and frameworks in Java and Python.
• Familiarity with STLC and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Interest or experience testing AI-powered applications (chatbots/AI/ML).
• Experience with Hybrid Automation frameworks.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and Python.
• Perform API testing and validate endpoints using Postman or Rest Assured.
• Conduct database testing with SQL queries to ensure data integrity.
• Own quality for assigned features; write test cases and execute functional, integration, and regression tests.
• Track and report testing progress using JIRA, ADO, or ALM; understand CI/CD.
• Develop and execute test plans for AI/ML applications and QA activities for AI systems.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate script development and data generation.
• Ensure AI reliability, fairness, and bias checks; contribute to trustworthiness.
