Job summary

Cognizant’s Quality Engineering & Assurance team is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our AI‑driven testing initiative. You will design and maintain automated test suites in Java and Python, perform API and database testing, and collaborate with product and development teams to ensure robust quality across critical applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–1 years in Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering.
• Hands-on in test automation with Java and Python.
• Familiar with STLC and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Interest or experience in AI-powered testing, such as chatbots or AI/ML systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks in Java and Python.
• Perform API testing with Swagger, Postman, or Rest Assured frameworks.
• Conduct database testing with SQL queries to ensure data integrity.
• Own quality for features, write test cases, and execute comprehensive test suites.
• Track progress using JIRA/ADO/ALM and report defects clearly.
• Contribute to AI/ML testing plans for chatbots and intelligent apps.
• Collaborate with product and dev teams to ensure quality from planning to release.
