Job description

Quality Assurance Engineer

Join to apply for the Quality Assurance Engineer role at Vari.

Vari started by developing the world’s leading sit‑stand desk converter to help a coworker with back pain, but now we’re so much more than a desk. We are flexible workspace solutions made simple and installed fast. We’ve shipped products to more than 120 countries, and our solutions are in 98% of Fortune 500 companies.

About the Role

Vari is looking for a QA Engineer to support our quality assurance efforts within our Technology Team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our customer‑facing eCommerce platforms, AI‑powered applications, and enterprise systems. You will execute test strategies and build automated test suites that enable our team to deliver high‑quality software rapidly and confidently.

As the primary QA team member on a lean, high‑impact team, you’ll contribute to our testing efforts and help strengthen our QA practices. We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable performing hands‑on manual and exploratory testing and designing and implementing test automation frameworks. This role is critical to supporting our AI and automation strategy, ensuring that our innovative solutions meet the highest standards of quality before reaching our customers.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to grow as a QA professional on a forward‑thinking technology team. You’ll contribute to our testing processes, participate in tool selection decisions, and help build out our test automation infrastructure within our existing tech stack and workflows. You’ll work across our entire technology stack, from customer‑facing eCommerce sites to internal enterprise systems to cutting‑edge AI agents. If you thrive in collaborative QA environments, are passionate about both manual testing and automation, and excited about exploring how AI can enhance the testing process, this role offers a great opportunity for growth and impact.

You must also be able to work on‑site in Coppell, TX on a hybrid schedule.

Relocation Assistance is not available for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web applications, APIs, AI agents, and enterprise systems across our technology portfolio.
  • Design, build, and maintain automated test suites using industry‑standard tools (Selenium, Playwright, or similar) to enable continuous integration and automated regression testing.
  • Conduct functional, integration, API, performance, and user acceptance testing across eCommerce platforms, Salesforce CRM, SAP S4 HANA, and custom‑developed applications.
  • Identify, document, and track defects through resolution, advocating for quality and working with developers to understand root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Contribute to QA best practices, standards, and documentation to support a scalable quality framework as the team grows.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement new testing tools, methodologies, and AI‑powered solutions to improve testing efficiency, coverage, and speed.
  • Partner with stakeholders across eCommerce, Customer Experience, Sales, and Operations to understand business requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
Qualifications
  • 2‑3 years of hands‑on experience in software quality assurance and testing, including both manual and automated testing.
  • Experience testing web applications and eCommerce platforms, with a solid understanding of user experience, checkout flows, and business logic.
  • Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar technologies, with the ability to build and maintain automated test suites.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, API, and exploratory testing.
  • Knowledge of SQL and ability to perform database testing and data validation.
  • Proficiency in API testing using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar, with understanding of RESTful APIs and integration testing.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with meticulous attention to detail and a passion for quality.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with developers, product managers, and business stakeholders.
  • Self‑motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly without losing quality.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience testing Salesforce applications (Commerce Cloud, Sales Cloud, or Service Cloud) and understanding of Salesforce‑specific testing considerations.
  • Exposure to Enterprise Resource Platforms (ERP) such as SAP, NetSuite, etc.
  • Background in testing AI/ML applications, chatbots, or intelligent agents, with understanding of unique quality considerations for AI systems.
  • Active exploration of AI tools for QA (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT for test case generation, AI‑powered test automation, etc.).
Benefits
  • State‑of‑the‑art on‑site gym, spa‑like locker room, and chair massage pod
  • Enhanced paternity/maternity/adoption programs
  • 401(k) and profit‑sharing plan
  • Personal time off / volunteer time off
  • Team‑building events on and off site
