Job summary

Allocate is seeking a Quality Engineer II to join the team. You will leverage AI tools as a core part of the development workflow to accelerate test creation and expand coverage.

The role emphasizes automation-first testing across the pyramid with a strong CI/CD foundation and ongoing expansion of test suites. You will automate E2E user flows and REST APIs, collaborate with engineering and product, and drive root-cause analysis on testing and production issues, while staying current on AI

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and QA automation.
• Ability to break web-based software and judge when automation suffices.
• Proficiency in Playwright or similar modern test frameworks.
• Experience testing REST-based web applications and front/back end.
• Proficient in TypeScript/JavaScript and Git workflows.
• Able to write and execute SQL queries for data verification.

Responsibilities

• Use Claude Code and other AI tools to generate, maintain, and refine automated tests.
• Build and maintain automated coverage across E2E user flows and REST APIs.
• Collaborate with engineers and product to plan test cases and coverage for new features.
• Troubleshoot failures, review logs, and drive root-cause analysis of bugs.
• Develop deep knowledge of the product domain and edge cases to anticipate breaks.
• Advocate for testability and meaningful coverage early in development.
