Job summary

Stored Energy Systems (SENS) in Longmont, CO is seeking a Process Automation Engineer to lead AI and automation initiatives across operations, engineering, and finance. You will design, implement, and support scalable automation solutions, governance, and AI platforms both on-prem and in cloud contexts.

The role requires strong technical and business acumen, a background in manufacturing, and hands-on experience with AI tools, workflow automation, APIs, and data governance to drive efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or related field.
• 3+ years relevant experience in business process optimization, software development, business systems improvement, or process automation.
• Working, practical knowledge of AI tools and platforms.
• Experience with workflow automation platforms.
• Experience with integrating systems using APIs, cloud services, and LLMs.
• Strong problem-solving and business analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience with on-premises deployment/maintenance of LLM.
• Strong experience working in a manufacturing company, working with manufacturing operations, sales and sales operations, accounting, and finance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor to departments including Operations, Engineering, Sales, Customer Service, Finance, and HR.
• Gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Define, design, develop, deliver, and support automated business processes.
• Establish, deploy, and maintain secure private AI and Large Language Model (LLM) platforms, including on-premises solutions, to ensure company data, intellectual property, and customer information remain protected.
• Develop and maintain AI knowledge systems that leverage internal engineering, product, quality, service, and operational data while ensuring information remains secure and accessible only to authorized users.
