Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, Astronomy or a related field by date of appointment.
• Strong expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and image processing.
• Postdoctoral or equivalent research experience is preferred as evidenced by the CV.
• Experience applying AI techniques for rare searches and handling diverse data types as evidenced by the CV.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop an integrated cross-domain image-processing pipeline based on a common AI workflow with researchers in physics and astronomy.
• Apply the pipeline to rare-event searches, gravitational lensing, and transient identification in radio astronomy.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team across physics, cosmology, and radio astronomy.
