Job summary

Qualifications

• PhD in astronomy, physics, statistics, computer science, or related field within 2025–2027.
• Ability to contribute to interdisciplinary research across astronomy and computational science.
• Expertise in computational astrophysics, machine learning, and/or star formation.

Responsibilities

• Initiate a comprehensive research program exploring surrogate modeling of astrophysical systems.
• Collaborate with CosmicAI researchers within the Oden Institute and UT Austin team.
• Develop cutting-edge AI tools and methodologies and leverage HPC resources.
