Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM invites applications for multiple Postdoctoral Appointee positions in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. You will contribute to end-to-end AI-for-science research spanning theory, modeling, engineering and deployment.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, prototype ML pipelines with PyTorch, TensorFlow and containerized workflows, and publish results while mentoring junior researchers.

Formación

• Ph.D. (earned within the past 5 years, or anticipated within 6 months) in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Statistics, or related STEM discipline.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q-level security clearance.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to conduct aligned AI research.
• Prototype and deploy ML pipelines using PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers and containerized workflows.
• Advance ML architectures, including generative, multi-agent, and simulation-informed models.
• Apply rigorous probabilistic methods and uncertainty quantification to develop credible models.
• Utilize advanced linear algebra techniques for high-dimensional inference.
• Integrate ML with physics-informed or hybrid modeling approaches and explore RL and digital twin frameworks.
• Contribute to research roadmaps and publish impactful outcomes through reports and open-source.
• Mentor interns or junior researchers and foster collaborative environment.
