Job summary

Vizient seeks a product owner/manager who independently owns defined internal platform capabilities and a substantial workstream, driving backlog, requirements, and AI-enabled workflow features with engineering and internal users. You’ll translate business logic into scalable, configurable platform functionality in an AI-first delivery model.

Qualifications

• 2 or more years of relevant experience required.
• Typically 3–5 years of relevant experience in product management, ownership, platform products, workflow automation, BPM, or enterprise technologies.
• Experience as Product Owner/Manager with backlog, stories, acceptance criteria.
• Experience with rules engines, BPM, configuration-driven platforms preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business processes into scalable technical solutions using close collaboration with engineering.
• Experience using AI tools to improve discovery, requirements, documentation, analysis, and communication.

Responsibilities

• Own the product backlog and near-term roadmap for internal platform capabilities (rules engines, workflow automation, data enablement, AI workflow support, developer experience, identity patterns, configuration services, and shared UI/product standards).
• Conduct discovery with internal users to understand workflow pain points, adoption barriers, value opportunities, and AI-driven delivery improvements.
• Translate business logic and internal needs into scalable, configuration-driven platform capabilities with user stories, requirements, acceptance criteria, prompt and context artifacts, and validation approaches.
• Balance platform priorities across internal client needs, engineering capacity, architecture direction, governance, risk, and AI-enabled development opportunities.
• Partner with engineering, security, data, and design to sequence work, evaluate tradeoffs, and deliver reusable platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with teams using agentic coding tools and AI-assisted environments to improve delivery quality and speed.
• Support implementation planning, release readiness, documentation, validation, and adoption activities with outcome-focused delivery.
• Track usage, adoption, and outcomes to refine backlog priorities and improve platform performance.
