Job summary

Vizient is seeking a product owner to independently manage defined internal platform capabilities, including reusable rules engines, workflow automation, and AI workflow support. You will translate business logic into scalable, configuration-driven features while partnering with engineering and internal users to drive adoption and measurable value.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant experience required.
• Typically 3–5 years of relevant experience in product management, product ownership, platform products, workflow automation, BPM, or AI-enabled workflows.
• Experience as Product Owner/Product Manager with backlog, user stories, acceptance criteria, and iterative delivery.
• Experience with rules engines, workflow automation platforms, BPM, or similar enterprise platform technologies.
• Proven ability to translate business processes into scalable technical solutions with engineering teams.
• Experience using AI tools such as Codex/ChatGPT, Claude Code/Co-Work, GitHub Copilot/Copilot Studio, and emerging agentic coding environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the product backlog and near-term roadmap for internal platform capabilities, including reusable rules engines, workflow automation, data enablement, AI workflow support, developer experience, identity patterns, configuration services, and shared UI/standards.
• Conduct discovery with internal users to understand workflow pain points, adoption barriers, and value opportunities including AI-led delivery improvements.
• Translate business logic and internal needs into scalable platform capabilities with user stories, requirements, acceptance criteria, and validation approaches.
• Balance priorities across client needs, engineering capacity, architecture direction, governance, risk, and AI opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering, AI Delivery, security, data, and design teams to sequence work and deliver reusable platform capabilities.
• Support AI-assisted development environments, testing, documentation, and validation workflows to improve delivery quality and speed.
• Assist in release planning, validation, and adoption activities with efficient delivery practices.
• Track usage, adoption, cycle time, and outcomes to refine backlog and improve performance.
• Identify opportunities to reduce internal friction and improve self-service via platform capabilities.
• Develop demonstrations and enablement resources to help internal users adopt platform capabilities.
