Job summary

Avathon, Inc. in Pleasanton, CA is hiring an Engineering Lead to build and run the Planning product on our platform. You will lead a team that turns forecasting and optimization models into production planning software: demand planning, supply and capacity planning, inventory and clear-to-build.

This is a hands-on lead role: you will write code, own the architecture, and mentor engineers. You’ll work on data pipelines from ERP, MES, PLM and logistics sources, scale planning models, and

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience including 3+ years in leadership.
• Built planning, scheduling, forecasting or optimization software.
• Strong backend skills in Python or Java with data pipelines and APIs.
• Experience integrating optimization solvers and ML models into production.
• Knowledge of supply chain planning concepts (MRP, capacity, inventory).
• Experience with large-scale data processing and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture for Planning services and data models.
• Build data pipelines from ERP/MES/PLM/TMS into the planning model.
• Productionize forecasting and optimization models with AI scientists.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers; set priorities and review designs.
• Collaborate with the Planning product manager on roadmap and releases.
• Ensure quality, performance and reliability for Planning in production.
