Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking an experienced Specialist, Content Developer (Physical Sciences) to lead the development of K-12 assessments for state and district clients in a 12-month limited-term role. You will create and review test items, specifications, and blueprints while leveraging AI-assisted tools to ensure high quality, accessible content.

You will collaborate with educators, psychometricians, and Pearson teams to integrate AI-generated assets, train writers, and support customer engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry, or equivalent experience.
• Five years' experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the field of content-specific area preferred.
• Professional knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends required.
• Some experience in large-scale, educational measurement preferred.
• Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development, or readiness to leverage AI in content creation.
• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across multiple grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item, passage, and test specifications, blueprints, and ancillary documents.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support content development and ensure quality and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows with feedback from content expertise.
• Select, train, and manage item writers and educators for item development.
• Contribute to customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Assist in test construction and review of composed test forms.
• Consult with customers and participate in planning and review meetings.
• Collaborate with Pearson groups and stay current with emerging AI technologies.
