Job summary

Walmart seeks an on-site Manager of Automation Engineering to lead complex automation and material handling projects from readiness through go-live. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage scope, schedule, budget, and vendor performance while driving AI-enabled visibility and data-driven decisions on safety and efficiency.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, risk management, and operational handoff to Reliability and Operations teams at the Bentonville campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, construction, project management, supply chain or related field.
• Experience leading complex capital projects involving automation, material handling, and related systems.
• Experience managing vendors, schedules, budgets, risk registers, change control, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site execution of automation, material handling, conveyor, controls and rack installations from readiness to go-live.
• Maintain scope, schedule, budget and change control; identify variances early and plan recoveries.
• Manage vendors, system integrators, rack installers, contractors; ensure deliverables meet contracts and timelines.
• Identify and mitigate project risks; maintain risk register and action plans with owners.
• Leverage AI and digital tools to improve visibility, reporting, and data-driven decisions.
