Job summary

Walmart in Bentonville, AR is seeking a Senior Manager, Automation Engineering to lead the execution of complex automation, material handling, and industrial racking projects regionally, ensuring safety, scope, schedule, budget, and operational readiness.

The role manages vendors and system integrators, coordinates with Engineering, Operations, Reliability, Technology, Safety, Procurement, Finance, and external partners, and leverages AI to improve visibility and data-driven decision-making,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
• Six years’ experience in Engineering, supply chain, or related area or option 2.
• Two years supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution across multiple concurrent automation, material handling, and industrial racking projects within an assigned region.
• Provide direction to ensure consistent execution standards, project controls, communication, and accountability.
• Maintain regional visibility for scope, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and change control; identify variances and implement recovery plans.
• Balance resources across projects and coordinate with leadership to resolve gaps.
• Manage performance of equipment suppliers, system integrators, rack installers, contractors; hold vendors accountable.
• Maintain project risk registers; identify risks and ensure mitigation plans.
• Drive resolution of critical issues and dependencies beyond a single project.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, Operations, Reliability/Maintenance, Technology, Safety, Procurement, Finance and external partners.
• Ensure readiness plans for site access, delivery, staging, installation sequencing, utilities, and interfaces.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, acceptance testing, punch-list closure, and go-live.
• Ensure proper change management with documentation and approvals.
• Leverage AI and digital tools for schedule, cost analysis, risk identification, and reporting.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field

Master's degree in Computer Engineering
