Job summary

Zoom is seeking an experienced security researcher at the intersection of offensive security and applied AI to surface risks across products and infrastructure. You will conduct hypothesis-driven investigations, validate exploitability, and trace attack paths with high autonomy, aligning findings with Security Assurance teams.

Role focuses on deep target knowledge, creative tooling, and rigorous verification to influence how Zoom understands risk. Hybrid work in the US is offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on vulnerability research, offensive security, application security, or penetration testing.
• Hands-on experience with frontier and open-weight models for security research and exploit development.
• Experience assessing AI-driven research processes, false positives/negatives, and reproducibility.
• Deep technical expertise in at least one security domain (web apps/APIs, cloud, OS, or reverse engineering).
• Strong programming and debugging skills; ability to read unfamiliar code and build tooling.
• Clear communication of evidence, uncertainties, and impact to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Leverage AI to conduct vulnerability research across Zoom's products, applications, services, and infrastructure.
• Select targets using threat analysis, architecture knowledge, and observed system behavior.
• Apply AI capabilities across reconnaissance, code analysis, hypothesis generation, exploit development, and verification.
• Design and tune research harnesses with proper context, tools, and environments.
• Develop custom tooling, fuzzers, agents, test harnesses, proofs of concept, and exploits when needed.
• Convert model output into defensible security evidence: reproduce findings and verify fixes.
• Improve reliability of AI-driven research by reducing false positives/negatives and nondeterminism.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Security to communicate findings and support remediation.
• Share tools and lessons learned to enhance Security Assurance processes.
