Job summary

Zoom's Offensive Security team seeks a seasoned researcher to surface critical risks across Zoom's products, apps, services, and infrastructure. You will combine threat analysis, target knowledge, and cutting-edge models to hypothesize failure paths, validate exploitability, and trace attack paths beyond standard testing.

This role emphasizes hands-on research and defies simple vulnerability scanning. You will work with Security Assurance teams, maintain autonomy, and translate model outputs

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on vulnerability research or offensive security in complex software or production systems.
• Hands-on experience with frontier/open-weight models in offensive workflows and exploit development.
• Experience assessing AI-driven research quality, reproducibility, and tool/agent trade-offs.
• Deep technical expertise in web apps and APIs, cloud infrastructure, or OS.
• Strong programming and debugging skills; able to read unfamiliar code and build tooling.
• Strong intuition on attack surfaces, trust boundaries, and security impact; independent researcher.
• Ability to communicate findings clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Leverage AI to conduct vulnerability research across Zoom's products, applications, services, and infrastructure, focusing on high-impact issues and verified exploitability.
• Use threat analysis, architecture knowledge, and observed behavior to choose targets and guide investigations.
• Apply frontier and open-weight models, agents, and other AI capabilities across reconnaissance, code analysis, hypothesis generation, exploit development, and verification.
• Design and tune research harnesses that give models the right context, tools, execution environments, and feedback.
• Develop custom tooling, including analysis utilities, fuzzers, agents, test harnesses, proofs of concept, and full exploits when needed.
• Convert promising model output into defensible security evidence: reproduce findings, rule out false claims, and distinguish weaknesses from demonstrated vulnerabilities.
• Improve AI-driven research reliability by addressing false positives/negatives, context limits, nondeterminism, and reproducibility.
• Work with Engineering and Product Security to communicate findings, support remediation, and verify fixes.
• Share tools, techniques, and lessons learned to strengthen Security Assurance across the org.
