Cozen O'Connor Corporation seeks a Legal Engineer – Transactional to design, build, test, and deploy AI-enabled workflows for transactional work. You will translate deal requirements into production-ready prompts, agents, and retrieval pipelines, ensuring governance and quality controls.

The role combines hands-on AI development with substantive transactional understanding to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.

Qualifications

JD preferred but not required; candidates with equivalent substantive legal, deal-support, knowledge-management, or legal-technology experience are encouraged to apply.
3–5 years of experience in transactional practice, legal technology, knowledge management, legal operations, practice innovation, or comparable professional-services environment with hands-on AI/workflow build experience.
Hands-on AI build experience—prompt engineering, AI workflow/agent development, and configuring legal AI platforms (e.g., Harvey, Legora, CoCounsel, Copilot, or contract-review platforms like Kira or Luminance).

Responsibilities

Build and engineer AI-enabled transactional workflows across firm platforms for diligence review, first-pass agreement review, redlining, clause extraction, deal-term summarization, and closing-checklist automation.
Develop and maintain prompt libraries, retrieval pipelines, clause banks, document templates, and reusable workflow components with attorney-ready documentation.
Translate practice requirements into technical specs, workflow logic, and structured solutions; use low-code tools and integrations to connect AI workflows to firm systems.
Test, evaluate, and harden solutions with evaluation frameworks and guardrails; embed human review checkpoints and risk controls.
Deploy and scale workflows in daily deal practice; maintain production workflows and track adoption, quality, and impact metrics.
Collaborate with Innovation Attorney (Transactional), knowledge management, IS, security, and vendors to deliver reliable, production-ready solutions.
