Job summary

Onbe is hiring a Software Development Engineer to embed AI-assisted coding throughout the lifecycle. You will design, build, test, and refactor Java microservices using Java 21+, Spring Boot 3, and Azure cloud.

You’ll collaborate with SMEs and vendors to decompose legacy systems into modular services, own the domain service architecture, and ensure security, reliability, and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience including Java development
• Strong experience with Java 21+ and modern practices
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted software engineering tools, specifically Claude Code
• Experience with Spring, JPA/Hibernate, REST API development

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate production-grade Java microservices using Java 21+ and Spring Boot 3
• Decompose legacy monoliths into independently deployable domain services
• Own architecture, reliability, and evolution of identified services
• Develop secure RESTful APIs and event-driven integrations with Azure Service Bus
• Build and maintain automated tests, document output, and ensure code quality with AI tooling
• Containerize and deploy services using Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes services
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and observability
