Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Columbus, OH is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable financial technology products.

You will contribute as a core technical member across multiple business functions, guiding engineers and aligning with enterprise practices. Responsibilities include building production-grade systems in Java/Spring Boot, leading teams, and advancing AI-assisted engineering practices within CI/CD and security constraints.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s).
• 8+ years strong experience in coding Java, Spring Boot, Microservices and AWS.
• Hands on experience in AWS EC2, AWS Lambda, AWS KMS, AWS ECS, AWS EKS, AWS S3, EMR, Athena, SQS, EventBridge, PostgresSQL.
• Hands on experience with Cloud provisioning tools such as Terraform and Cloud formation.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools with secure adoption.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows; coaching engineers on safety and resiliency.

• Executes creative software solutions with ability to think beyond routine approaches.
• Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews code written by others.
• Drives adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools to improve automation and value.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation and improve stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams on architecture and design.
• Codes in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices and AWS.
• Leads varying levels of Software Engineers.
