Job summary

JPMorganChase in Columbus, OH seeks a Lead Software Engineer to contribute to the Connected Commerce Payments team, delivering trusted, secure, scalable technology while mentoring other engineers.

You will design and implement Java/Spring Boot microservices on AWS, drive CI/CD, promote AI-assisted engineering practices, and collaborate across business functions to meet regulatory and security standards.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
• 8+ years strong experience in coding Java, Spring Boot, Microservices and AWS
• Hands on experience in AWS EC2, AWS Lambda, AWS KMS, AWS ECS, AWS EKS, AWS S3, EMR, Athena, SQS, EventBridge, PostgreSQL
• Hands on experience with Cloud provisioning tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Leadership and mentoring experience

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine approaches
• Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and security
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools to improve automation and value
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve stability
• Leads evaluation sessions with vendors and teams on architectural designs and applicability
• Codes in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices and AWS
• Utilizes Terraform & CloudFormation for provisioning
• Strong experience in Agile, CI/CD, resiliency and security
• Lead varying levels of Software Engineers
