Job summary

Mainstay seeks a senior full-stack software engineer to design, build, and ship AI-powered workflow management tools that scale for our real estate operations. You will work across the stack, delivering production-ready features from retrieval pipelines to user-facing experiences on Python, TypeScript, and React, deployed on AWS.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and shipping production-grade software in fast-paced startups.
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying production-ready AI features.
• AI-first thinking and strong software development best practices.
• Strong full-stack skills with backend-first orientation.
• Experience designing and operating scalable backend systems (Python preferred).
• Solid frontend experience with React or similar frameworks.
• Experience with data-heavy or workflow-oriented systems.
• Clear communication in a remote, collaborative team.
• Proactive ownership and problem-solving in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to all phases of product development from ideation to iteration.
• Design reliable, scalable backend services to support AI-powered features.
• Build and evolve backend services and APIs for large real estate datasets
• Develop frontend and backend experiences that are intuitive and actionable.
• Evaluate LLM performance on latency, cost, accuracy, and hallucination.
• Own technical decisions for core SaaS platform components.
• Collaborate with product, design, data science, and data engineering.
• Improve system reliability, performance, and maintainability at scale.
• Modernize legacy workflows with software-driven insights.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and standards.
