Job summary

KPMG is seeking an Advisory Intern for the Federal Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk practice in Consulting. You will assist in identifying internal controls, performing control testing, and supporting data-driven risk analyses for client engagements.

Responsibilities include analytical reviews, data extraction from IT systems, and contributing to reports for leadership, with opportunities to learn and apply MS Office tools and KPMG technologies in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Criminal Justice, Business Administration or equivalent.
• Current GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Eligible for or possess a U.S. Government Security clearance.
• Strong analytical, communication and collaboration skills with professional demeanor.
• Ability to learn KPMG tools and apply MS Office (with emphasis on Excel).
• Willingness to travel and work on-site at client locations; reside within commutable distance to the office.

Responsibilities

• Help identify internal controls within business processes and conduct cyclical internal control testing and analyze results.
• Assist with analytical reviews of key client processes and connection to enabling IT systems.
• Work on teams focused on data driven solutions to address risk factors and identify improvements.
• Support quantitative and qualitative analysis related to fraud, forensics, insider threat and supply chain risk issues.
• Assist with information gathering via client interviews, system queries and research.
• Help perform data analytics and visualize results using various tools.
