KPMG LLP is seeking an Advisory Intern for our Advisory practice in the United States. The role involves assisting with data-driven approaches to risk, leveraging data and technology, and supporting IT and finance control testing across industries.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors; Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS, AIS, or equivalent program
• Must have a current/most recent GPA of 3.0 or above
• Applicant must be eligible for or possess a U.S. Government Security clearance
• Strong in technical, business acumen, critical thinking and agility skills; demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach, in a dynamic, evolving environment
• Ability to leverage common business technologies, including MS Office (with an emphasis on Excel) and AI, and quickly learn KPMG tools and applications used by our clients
• Strong communication, organization and relationship-building skills, with the ability to apply professional judgment and skepticism, manage priorities across multiple tasks and deliver high-quality work in a professional services capacity
• Must reside within a commutable distance of the office for this position and be responsible for your own transportation, such as personal vehicle or public transportation, to get to and from office / client locations to satisfactorily fulfill your job duties, as determined by your practice leadership
• Work location may be in the office, at client sites, or virtual/remote depending on business need. You must be located within the U.S. when working remotely. Client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay.

Responsibilities

• Assist with providing data driven approaches to address a spectrum of risk factors including IT risk, financial risk, operational risk and performance improvement opportunities for clients within a variety of industries
• Help identify opportunities for improvement in managing risk by leveraging data and technology and understanding the clients business, technology landscape and business processes
• Assist with data flow process mapping and analytical reviews of client business processes, transactions and systems
• Support team with planning and performing tests of clients financial and information technology controls, including IT security and governance controls, as well as business process controls
• Conduct research, assist with risk analysis and help with quantitative and qualitative analysis through a variety of data analytic tools and techniques
• Collaborate with teammates on designing, developing and marketing new service offerings and innovative tools, utilizing emerging technologies and intelligent automation, in order to advance our practice and client objectives
