Job summary

Cooley LLP is seeking a Technology Cyber Security Architect to lead the security architecture across on-prem, cloud, and AI-enabled environments. You will define standards, review new systems, and collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and data teams to embed security and governance in design.

You will protect data pipelines and AI workflows, manage incident response, and mentor security engineers while ensuring compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of direct cybersecurity, infrastructure, or systems architecture experience.
• Ability to translate business requirements into secure designs.
• Experience with security controls configuration and secure migration of enterprise apps.
• Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2) and AI security basics.
• CISSP, CISM or equivalent certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise security architecture across on-prem, hybrid, and AI-enabled environments.
• Define security standards, patterns, and reference architectures aligned with objectives and regulations.
• Conduct security architecture reviews for new systems and AI/ML platforms.
• Partner with engineering, DevOps, and data teams to embed security and governance into design.
• Establish guardrails for responsible AI use, including access controls, monitoring, and auditability.
• Support incident response, forensics, and post-incident architecture improvements.
• Communicate architectural decisions clearly to leadership and technical stakeholders.
