Job summary

Cooley LLP is seeking a Technology Cyber Security Architect to design and maintain enterprise security architecture across on-premises, hybrid, and AI-enabled environments. You will define standards, perform architecture reviews, and collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and data teams to embed security and governance into system design.

The role emphasizes security controls for AI/ML, incident response support, and mentoring other security engineers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years direct cybersecurity or architecture experience.
• Ability to translate business needs into secure designs.
• Experience with security controls and secure migrations of enterprise apps.
• Familiarity with NIST/ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR and AI security practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise security architecture across on-premises, hybrid, and AI-enabled environments
• Define security standards, patterns, and reference architectures aligned with objectives
• Conduct security architecture reviews for new systems, AI/ML platforms, and major tech changes
• Partner with engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, and data teams to embed security and governance
• Design security controls for AI/ML systems including data pipelines, training environments, and inference platforms
• Identify and mitigate risks related to AI systems (data leakage, model poisoning, prompt injection)
• Evaluate security tools, platforms, and AI-enabled security technologies
• Ensure architectures comply with legal and industry frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR)
• Establish guardrails for responsible AI use, including access controls and monitoring
• Support incident response, forensics, and post-incident improvements
• Provide guidance to security engineers and other stakeholders
• Communicate architectural decisions and risks to leadership
