Statista is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a cross-functional team responsible for our internal Content Tooling platform, enabling researchers and data engineers. You will shape the roadmap with a product manager and drive scalable, cost-efficient solutions.

You’ll guide senior engineers, embrace modern AI-driven practices, and oversee migrations while maintaining strong collaboration with stakeholders. The role combines technical leadership with strategic planning in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• 3+ years leading cross-functional, product-oriented engineering teams.
• Solid grasp of full-stack development with Java and React.
• Strong understanding of distributed system design, microservices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a backend/frontend/QA engineering team and foster growth.
• Maintain a 12–18 month team direction amidst changing priorities.
• Own cross-team interfaces and dependencies to keep engineers focused.
• Drive engineering excellence for stability, performance, and maintainability.
• Lead migration projects to consolidate internal tools and retire obsolete ones.
• Introduce AI-assisted engineering practices with clear ownership.
