Job summary

HMH is seeking a Digital Services Engineering Intern in Houston to support AI development, data analytics, service-tool development, and process improvement. You will work across teams to analyze service performance, develop digital tools, dashboards, and automated workflows, and contribute to structured problem solving and knowledge capture.

The internship runs 12 weeks (May 24 – August 13, 2027) and requires current enrollment in an engineering, CS, computational engineering, or data science

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Graduate degree in Engineering, CS, Computational Engineering, or Data Science.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Interest in AI, data analytics, automation or continuous improvement.
  • Able to collaborate across functions and work independently.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support AI-enabled initiatives, including data preparation, output review, and feedback tracking.
  • Engineering analysis of service performance, equipment issues, and lifecycle opportunities.
  • Development and testing of digital tools, dashboards, analytics, and automated workflows.
  • Structured problem solving, recurring-issue analysis, and service-process improvement.
  • Collaborate with Product & Technology, engineering, operations, Service Centers, and field teams.
