Job summary

TELUS Digital seeks a hands-on technical leader to define standards for AI-enabled software delivery. You will shape spec-driven development, establish an AI-driven lifecycle, and build guardrails ensuring safe, high-speed delivery across engineering teams.

You will work with business and engineering leaders to translate requirements into specs for humans and AI, pair with delivery teams, and validate standards in real projects. Prior Java/Spring and microservices experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with spec-driven development.
• Experience with steering documents and guardrails.
• Solid working experience with agentic AI.
• Broad understanding of current AI technologies for software delivery.
• Enough technical leadership to carry a room of stakeholders and a pull request with equal credibility.
• Strong Java and Spring background.
• Experience designing or building microservices in production.

Responsibilities

• Define and roll out organization-wide spec-driven development.
• Operationalize an AI-driven development lifecycle (AI-DLC).
• Build and tailor guardrails for AI-generated work per team.
• Evaluate, select, and roll out tooling (Kiro, GitHub Spec Kit).
• Pair with delivery teams to prove the standards in real delivery.
• Translate stakeholders' requirements into specs for humans and AI.
• Measure adoption and iterate as tooling changes.
