Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Data Governance Engineer, Lead, to shape the evolution of mission data governance and modernize data flows for national security programs. You will guide data tagging, schemas, and governance across enterprise systems, coordinating with data flow providers and stakeholders.

The role offers opportunities to expand into cross-domain technologies, AI-assisted schema development, and end-to-end governance for critical cyber missions.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience working on contracts for the federal government.
• Experience with data flow, Apache NiFi, or mission systems.
• Experience defining and applying data tagging and handling requirements.
• Experience analyzing and defining data schemas and data processing requirements.
• Experience developing capability level and functional requirements, mission scenarios, use cases, or business processes for automation.
• Knowledge of data governance concepts, such as data provenance, classification, sizing, retention, data sharing, and marking.

Responsibilities

• Lead modernization efforts for the client's enterprise data flow team.
• Provide Tier 1 operations support for data flow requests and define data schemas and metadata tagging.
• Define processes, business rules, and functional requirements for data governance across mission systems.
• Coordinate with data flow service providers and plan dataflows supporting cyber missions.
• Integrate AI tools to develop schemas and modernize data governance processes.
