Tenaska is seeking a Data Governance Engineer to modernize our governance model with AI-driven automation. You will work at the intersection of software and data engineering to build trusted data pipelines and intelligent governance across our cloud platforms.

The role emphasizes automated governance, metadata management, and data quality, partnering with technical and business stakeholders to scale data ecosystems enterprise-wide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• 4–6 years in data/software engineering or technical data management.
• Production-grade software development experience.
• Strong Python, SQL, APIs, and version control skills.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Fabric).
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and MDM concepts.
• Ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Automate data governance processes with AI agents and workflow automation.
• Design automated governance controls in data pipelines.
• Develop policy-as-code with versioning, testing, and deployment.
• Advance metadata management, data discovery, and cataloging.
• Improve data quality with monitoring, telemetry, and drift detection.
• Collaborate to optimize governance across cloud data platforms.
• Drive adoption through bridging technical and business teams.
