Job summary
Optum Technology is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead multiple engineering teams delivering enterprise-grade AI-driven voice, IVR, and conversational platforms. This role combines technical leadership with organizational leadership to align product strategy and outcomes.
The role emphasizes end-to-end delivery on AWS-based platforms, QE mindset, and AI/ML rigor. Remote work is possible nationwide with in-office requirements in Minneapolis four days a week for local hires.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
- 12+ years of software engineering experience
- 5+ years in engineering management or leadership roles
- 5+ years delivering cloud-native applications (AWS preferred)
- 3+ years delivering AI/ML or conversational platforms
- 2+ years with AWS services including Connect, Lex, Lambda, API Gateway
- Hybrid/on-site in multiple U.S. locations
Responsibilities
- Lead and scale multiple engineering teams delivering enterprise-grade software
- Establish engineering strategy aligned with AI 10.0 objectives
- Provide organizational leadership, including hiring and performance management
- Set engineering standards and foster ownership and continuous improvement
- Oversee quality engineering and AI system validation across platforms
- Drive end-to-end delivery across programs and cross-functional teams
