Job summary

UNITED COMMUNITY BANK is seeking a Compliance Automation Specialist who bridges compliance testing with the Bank’s data and technology environment. The role translates regulatory obligations into automated tests using scripting and AI, pulling directly from core systems to improve speed, consistency, and coverage.

The successful candidate will design, execute, and scale tests, collaborate with IT and data teams, and ensure responsible AI use with governance and oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of combined experience across data analytics / information technology and regulatory compliance, audit, or testing, including hands-on experience with scripting and automation.
• Banking or financial services experience is required.
• Demonstrated familiarity with both sides of the equation — compliance/regulatory testing concepts and data/technology tools.
• Hands‑on scripting experience (e.g., SQL and Python) to build, automate, and maintain data‑driven tests.
• Practical experience applying AI tools to analyze data, generate or refine code and test logic, or increase efficiency with human validation.

Responsibilities

• Translate regulatory obligations and control requirements into automated, data‑driven tests.
• Write, maintain, and optimize scripts and apply AI‑enabled tools for automated compliance tests across source systems.
• Use AI to interpret regulatory requirements, generate test logic, analyze large data populations, and surface anomalies.
• Act as liaison between Compliance Testing and Data/IT, coordinating data access and mappings.
• Identify authoritative data sources, document data lineage, and ensure population accuracy.
• Validate automated/AI results against expected outcomes and maintain proper human oversight.
• Document test logic, prompts, data sources, and procedures for repeatability and auditability.
• Support audits and regulatory examinations by explaining methodology and providing evidence.
• Prepare periodic reporting on automation coverage, test results, and metrics for leadership.
