Job summary

Jobtailor in Greenville, SC seeks a seasoned Automation/Regulatory Compliance Tester to translate regulatory obligations into automated, data-driven tests, pulling data from core banking systems and applying AI-enabled tools to refine test logic. You will validate AI-generated results and document procedures while expanding testing coverage.

The role requires 5+ years in data analytics and regulatory testing in banking, with SQL/Python scripting and Power BI experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent education/experience
• Minimum of 5 years across data analytics/IT and regulatory compliance, audit, or testing
• Hands-on scripting experience with SQL and Python
• Banking/financial services experience required
• Familiarity with compliance/regulatory testing concepts and data/technology tools
• Experience applying AI tools (LLMs, ML) with awareness of AI limitations
• Understanding of core/loan/deposit systems data and data governance
• Proficiency with relational databases and large data sets
• Strong analytical skills, communication, and attention to detail
• Ability to pass background/credit checks and work evenings/weekends
• Up to 10% travel

Responsibilities

• Translate regulatory obligations, control requirements, and manual test steps into automated, data-driven tests
• Write, maintain, and optimize scripts and apply AI-enabled tools to design, build, and execute automated compliance tests
• Pull testing data directly from core, loan, deposit, and ancillary source systems
• Use AI to interpret regulatory requirements, generate and refine test logic and code
• Serve as liaison between Compliance Testing and enterprise Data and IT teams
• Coordinate data access, source-system mapping, data dictionaries, and secure data extracts
• Identify authoritative data sources, document data lineage, and confirm population completeness and accuracy
• Validate automated and AI-generated test logic and results against expected outcomes and manual samples
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies before results are relied upon
• Document test logic, scripts, AI prompts and tools, data sources, assumptions, and procedures
• Ensure AI/automation use aligns with model risk management, data governance, information security, responsible-AI standards
• Recommend and implement tools/platforms to expand automated testing coverage
• Support Director and Chief Compliance Officer during internal audits and regulatory examinations
• Explain automation and AI testing methodology with supporting evidence
• Prepare periodic reporting on automation/AI coverage, test results, and metrics for senior leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
• Minimum of 5 years of combined experience across data analytics / information technology and regulatory compliance, audit, or testing
• Hands-on experience with scripting and automation
• Banking or financial services experience required
• Familiarity with compliance/regulatory testing concepts and data/technology tools
• Hands-on scripting experience, including SQL and Python
• Practical experience applying AI tools, such as large language models or machine-learning / generative-AI tools
• Understanding of AI limitations and need for human validation
• Working knowledge of core, loan, and deposit systems and their data
• Proficiency with relational databases and large data sets
• Understanding of consumer and deposit banking regulations and translating requirements into testable controls
• Strong analytical skills and sound judgment
• Excellent MS Excel skills and overall computer proficiency with Word and PowerPoint
• Strong communication, organization, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Ability to pass a background and credit check
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
• Up to 10% travel
• Preferred: AI-enabled or machine-learning workflows, prompt engineering, model evaluation, AI in testing or audit
