Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory seeks a software engineer to build enterprise-scale data platforms enabling AI-enabled analytics for national security decision-makers. You will design and deploy scalable Python systems, APIs, and data services, integrating diverse data sources and creating analytics workflows for ML and scientific applications.

Qualifications

• Experience in Python programming.
• Experience collaborating in Git-based workflows with automated tests and CI/CD.
• Experience with data processing, analytics and ML workflows.
• Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary scientific teams.
• Strong motivation for continuous learning and ability to work independently.
• Ability to articulate concepts across multiple media and audiences.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain DOE Q and SCI clearances.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deploy scalable software systems for AI-enabled analytics and big data integration.
• Develop production-quality Python code, APIs, and data services; build cloud-native data pipelines.
• Integrate heterogeneous data sources and create scalable ML and scientific analytics workflows.
• Work with modern software engineering practices: version control, CI/CD, containers, cloud-native architectures, and distributed computing.
