Job summary

SpaceXAI is seeking a hands-on leader to manage a team of AI Tutors (staff and contractors) responsible for delivering high‑quality training data and evaluations powering our models. You will set quality standards, review domain work, ensure data accuracy and consistency, and build scalable, efficient operations as the team grows.

You will also execute labeling tasks, coach team members, manage performance, and collaborate with Engineering to translate model needs into clear labeling strategies.

Qualifications

• Hands-on data labeling, annotation, AI training/evaluation experience.
• Experience building scalable, high-performance tech applications.
• Familiarity with data quality metrics and guideline-driven workflows.
• Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and data impact on model performance.
• Experience with performance coaching, training programs, and certification frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end quality and delivery for data projects; review work for accuracy and adherence.
• Lead, coach, and evaluate AI Tutors; conduct performance reviews and drive improvements.
• Participate in labeling/review tasks to uphold high data quality.
• Ensure guideline adherence, taxonomy management, and QA processes.
• Drive efficiency by removing bottlenecks and tracking KPI dashboards.
• Create training materials, practice tasks, and certification benchmarks.
• Collaborate with Human Data Managers, Team Leads, and Engineering to align labeling needs.
• Develop talent, maintain accountability, and support disciplinary actions.
• Document outcomes, suggest process iterations, and report status and risks.
• Represent tutors' perspective to the broader Human Data organization.
