Job summary

SpaceXAI is seeking a hands-on leader for our AI Tutors team to deliver high-quality training data and evaluations that power our models. You will set data quality standards, review work, and build operational excellence at the team level.

You will coach, performance-manage, and develop talent while coordinating with engineering to translate model needs into clear labeling strategies. This role emphasizes strong communication and proactive problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 6 months+ hands-on experience in data labeling, annotation, AI training/evaluation, content quality, or similar operational domains.
• Understanding of AI and ML concepts and their impact on model performance.
• 4+ years applicable experience in lieu of a degree as an alternative to a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end quality and delivery for assigned Human Data projects — review work for accuracy and guideline adherence.
• Lead and coach a team of AI Tutors, conduct performance reviews, and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee labeling/review tasks to maintain high standards and model best practices.
• Ensure strict guideline adherence, taxonomy management, and QA processes.
• Track performance with KPI dashboards (quality metrics, throughput, send-back rates).
• Collaborate with Human Data Managers, Team Leads, and Engineering to translate model needs into labeling strategies.
• Develop talent, manage accountability, and support disciplinary actions as needed.
• Document outcomes, propose process iterations, and report project status, risks, and results.
• Act as the voice of tutors and foster collaboration across the Human Data organization.
