Job summary

SpaceXAI in Palo Alto is seeking an engineer to ensure data teams receive high-quality tasks and evaluations by crafting and executing data projects. You will operate at the intersection of engineering and data operations, partnering with model teams to design projects that yield meaningful signals and drive data quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, CS, or a related STEM field or 4+ years of experience.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, research, product, or operations).
• Demonstrated experience analyzing datasets to identify trends, anomalies, or data quality issues.

Responsibilities

• Partner with model and engineering teams to translate needs into high-value data projects and evaluation strategies.
• Own end-to-end delivery of data and eval projects that capture training signals and support model development.
• Build tools to measure data effectiveness and run evaluations to improve quality.
• Maintain data integrity, with validation for factual accuracy; prioritize quality over quantity.
• Research and implement techniques for data collection, annotation, generation, and multimodal integration.
• Shape behavior and domain performance through targeted data work.
• Design and improve annotation workflows and labeling interfaces for data quality.
• Act as liaison between engineering, staff, and Human Data teams to drive alignment.
• Collaborate to scale projects, share learnings, and report status and blockers.
