Job summary

Boston Scientific is seeking an AI Data Engineer III to design, build and operate scalable data platforms powering enterprise AI products. You will own complex data components from design to production, including unstructured content processing, vector indexing and LLM‑based enrichment.

The role is hybrid, requiring presence in Marlborough, MA or Arden Hills, MN at least three days a week, with a focus on secure, observable, cost‑effective solutions in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years delivering production data pipelines or services.
• Hands-on Python and SQL with modern software practices.
• Experience building cloud-based data pipelines on AWS and/or Azure.
• API design and data service integration with downstream apps.
• Understanding of data quality, lineage, logging and observability.
• Clear communicator, able to own engineering work end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate scalable AI data platforms for RAG, enterprise search and knowledge‑driven apps.
• Develop production-grade pipelines to ingest and enrich structured and unstructured content.
• Tune retrieval using embeddings, vector stores, keywords and metadata filtering.
• Implement LLM-based enrichment and guardrails; monitor production performance.
• Collaborate with AI engineers, data scientists and business stakeholders.
• Create secure APIs and services exposing derived data and AI capabilities.
