Job summary

Boston Scientific is seeking an AI Data Engineer III to design, build and operate data platforms powering enterprise AI products. You will own complex data components from design to production, including unstructured content processing, vector indexing, and LLM-based enrichment, in a regulated enterprise environment.

You will collaborate with engineers, architects and data scientists to deliver secure, observable, cost-efficient solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in data engineering, software engineering or AI/machine learning engineering with production data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Python and SQL and software engineering practices (CI/CD, tests, code reviews).

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate scalable AI data platforms supporting RAG and enterprise search.
• Develop production-grade pipelines ingesting structured and unstructured content.
• Optimize document processing using language models and cloud services for extraction and summarization.
• Implement and tune retrieval strategies using embeddings, vector databases and hybrid search.
• Create secure APIs and services exposing derived data and AI capabilities.
