Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an AI Data Engineer in Palmdale, CA to design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade data pipelines and data warehouses powering AI/ML initiatives in a classified environment.

You will partner with AI/ML teams to create model-ready datasets and feature stores, while owning the full lifecycle from requirements gathering to production deployment. A strong background in Python, SQL, and data warehousing is required, along with eligibility for security clearance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field
• 2-4 years of experience in data engineering or related data/analytics roles
• 1+ years of experience supporting AI/ML systems or data science teams
• Understanding of traditional BI and data warehousing concepts (ETL, data modeling, reporting)
• Proficiency with Python and SQL databases, demonstrated through coursework, projects, internships, or professional experience
• Understanding of relational databases, data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data quality
• Ability to analyze problems, learn new technologies, and communicate clearly in a collaborative team environment
• Ability to work in an Agile development environment and use Git
• Able to obtain special program clearance
• Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade data pipelines and warehouses that power AI/ML initiatives
• Partner with AI/ML developers to deliver data-ready datasets and feature stores for model training and deployment
• Own the full data solution lifecycle from profiling to production deployment, including security and performance optimization
• Work in secure facilities in classified environments and follow all security and authentication protocols
