Job summary

Hippo Insurance is hiring a Data Privacy, Cybersecurity & AI Compliance Manager to design and lead our privacy program. You will own consumer rights, incident response collaboration, and AI governance across insurance products.

You’ll work with Legal, Security, Engineering, and Marketing in a hybrid environment, contributing to board‑level reporting and ongoing regulatory exams. Strong privacy certifications and insurance industry expertise are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data privacy, cybersecurity, and/or AI governance compliance within regulated industry.
• Bachelor’s degree; privacy certifications preferred (CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, CISSP, CISM, CDPSE).
• Insurance industry experience strongly preferred and ability to coordinate with Legal, Security, and Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and run Hippo's enterprise data privacy compliance program with governance and metrics.
• Own privacy rights process from intake to response, ensuring regulatory scrutiny readiness.
• Support NYDFS 23 NYCRR 500, NAIC Model Law, and state cyber regulations with documentation and audits.
• Triage and document cyber events; support materiality, notifications, and legal counsel escalations.
• Build and maintain AI governance framework: risk assessments, inventory, and monitoring of AI/ML systems.
• Conduct vendor privacy and data protection reviews; assist with DPAs with Legal.
• Draft and operationalize policies, standards, and training across privacy, security, and AI.
• Serve as regulatory liaison for inquiries, exams, and audits across privacy, cyber, and AI.
• Collaborate with Legal, InfoSec, Engineering, Marketing to embed compliance into products.
